More information about Bill C-291

I was just at Free Dominion when I got wind of this NDP MP's response to a request to support the Bill:

Quote:
Thank you very much for your message.

While the intent of this bill maybe to protect pregnant women and their unborn children from acts of violence, the language of this bill is inconsistent with the current criminal code. The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs on June 6, 2006 voted the bill unvotable. Information on the Committee can be found here:
http://cmte.parl.gc.ca/cmte/CommitteeList.aspx?Lang=1&PARLSES=391&JNT=0&SELID=e21_&COM=10465.

Bill C-291 will be debated in the House of Commons on June 14th, but there will not be a vote. If you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact me at the details below.
